CASTING PAID ROLES FOR NON-UNION ACTORS
For the safety of our cast and crew we are requiring vaccination for everyone on set. The only exception to this are the two young child roles because they are too young to be vaccinated. Please only submit for a role if you have been fully vaccinated for the Covid-19 coronavirus and are able to email us a picture of your vaccination card if selected to join the cast.
Creative Quality Productions is looking for talent to perform in a non-union feature film that is shooting in the DC Metro Area September 1 - 5, 2021 (The shooting schedule is still being finalized for each role, but the amount of time required on set for each role is listed in the character descriptions below). Initial submissions will be via self-recorded video auditions of sides with virtual call backs via zoom (a specific time will be arranged with each actor/actress selected for call backs).
Below you will find character descriptions for each role. Click the words, “Download Sides” below to download the sides. Email your self-recorded video auditions with your headshots, resume, full body picture of current look and link to reel (if available) to email@example.com. Please put “Feature Film Audition” in the subject line. In the body of the email please include the name(s) of the character(s) you’re auditioning for. Any submissions that do not follow the above guidelines will be deleted.
Rehearsal dates will be August 14 (4pm-9pm), August 20 (4pm-9pm), August 26 (4pm-9pm). You'll be needed at no more than 2 rehearsals for 1 - 2hrs at the most. All rehearsals will be in Bowie, MD and Hyattsville, MD.
If you are not available for the shoot dates of September 1 - 5, 2021 or you are not available for the amount of rehearsals necessary for the role, please DO NOT submit.
Film Synopsis: A Shadow in the Dark is a film that addresses the issue of gun violence in DC. It focuses on two community leaders with opposing views of gun violence prevention that are forced to work together in an attempt to save the lives of the people in their city.
Character Descriptions & Details: All pay rates listed below are flat including buyout for unlimited use for internet, film, and TV in perpetuity. Tyrell: a troubled youth who continues to make poor choices that lead to him being arrested (black male, 16-18 yr old - 4hrs on set - $100 pay rate - needed for 2 rehearsals - 2hrs each rehearsal)
Marquis: Tyrell's older brother who used to run the streets, but now tries to help other kids find the right path (black male, 16-20 yr old - 8hrs on set - $150 pay rate - needed for 2 rehearsals - 2hrs each rehearsal)
Police Officer at Precinct: a cop that works in the juvenile division and has seen Tyrell in jail on too many occasions (white male or female, 4hrs on set - $100 pay rate - needed for 2 rehearsals - 1hr each rehearsal)
Radio News Reporter: (Male or Female - This is strictly voice over work, no time on set, - $50 pay rate - your self recorded audition should be only audio of you saying the lines - no rehearsals required)
Jennifer: a juvenile defense attorney that works long hours to serve the youth on her case load (white female, mid 20’s - late 30’s - 8hrs on set - $150 pay rate- needed for 2 rehearsals - 2hrs each rehearsal)
Ms. Carter: a mother in the community who's son was killed 3 months ago (black female, late 30’s - late 40’s - 4hrs on set - $100 pay rate - needed for 2 rehearsals - 2hrs each rehearsal)
Trell: a hitman/shooter in the community who's willing to hurt whoever he needs to in order to get the information that he needs (black male, late 20’s - late 30’s - 4hrs on set - $100 pay rate- needed for 2 rehearsals - 2hrs each rehearsal).
Mike: Teen who attends the program at the community center (black male, 13-18 yrs old - 2hrs on set - no lines - $25 pay rate - no rehearsals required)
5 Men Ambushed: 5 men who were attacked and are laying on the ground, struggling to get up in a fight scene (5 black males, late teens - early 30’s - 2hrs on set - no lines - $25 pay rate - no rehearsals required)
2 Gunmen at the Warehouse: Trigger men for Marlo (2 black males, late teens - early 30’s - 4hrs on set - $50 pay rate- no lines - no rehearsals required)
Nya Gaines: a mother of two young boys that's addicted to heroin (black female, complexion: brown skinned/ dark skinned - mid 20’s - late 30’s - 4hrs on set - $50 pay rate - no lines - no rehearsals required)
Police Officer #1: arrives on the scene of a homicide with gun drawn looking for suspect (white male or female, 4hrs on set - $50 pay rate - no lines - no rehearsals required)
Police Officer #2: arrives on the scene of a homicide with gun drawn looking for suspect (black or hispanic male or female, 4hrs on set - $50 pay rate - no lines - no rehearsals required)
Young Derrick: a boy who loves his younger brother (7-10 yr old black male, complexion: brown skinned) (4hrs on set - $50 pay rate - no lines - no rehearsals required)
